Sarah is from Montreal but has lived on the Canadian West Coast for the last 15 years.
She studied yoga as an avocation for 10 years before taking her first teacher training.
After several years of teaching, she began to experience discomfort in her joints from overdoing it in yoga, and had to learn how to put her body back together.
She will be teachings the basics of differentiating passively stretching, or elongating, tissues and areas of the body as opposed to actively taking joints to their end range of motion, and challenging the supporting system of muscles and tissues to hold the body in its end range of motion, as well as teaching the merits and application of both.
Sarah has been studying with Orit Sen Gupta for the last 7 years, and is ongoing in her studies of Vijnana Yoga.
She has also studied the Iyengar and Ashtanga practices for many years previously, and is currently following and learning from Michael Stone. Her passion is transmitting the moving meditation aspect of asana in her classes, and offering her knowledge of yoga as a way to empower people of an ancient pathway we can all use to reconnect to our essential nature.
